Photo Mega Navbar

About this block

Photo Mega NavbarPRO

A sticky frosted navbar whose first item opens a full-width panel: a ruled list of serif services on the left that brightens and slides an arrow in on hover while the photograph on the right blurs to the matching room, plus plain links, a sliding-marker pill and a light mobile menu. The panel is always in the markup and shown with CSS.

Base UI flavor

bash
npx shadcn add "https://ui.beste.co/r-base/navbar80?email=YOUR_EMAIL&license_key=YOUR_KEY"

This installs the block to components/beste/block/navbar80.tsx plus the button22 sliding-marker pill it uses.

Quick start

The installed file exports navbar80Demo alongside the block: the exact props behind the preview above. Spread it to get a working navbar in one line.

tsx
import { Navbar80, navbar80Demo } from "@/components/beste/block/navbar80";

export default function Page() {
  return <Navbar80 {...navbar80Demo} />;
}

Then replace the demo with your own props. Written out, a trimmed setup looks like this:

tsx
import { Navbar80 } from "@/components/beste/block/navbar80";

export default function Page() {
  return (
    <Navbar80
      brand="Altair"
      mega={{
        label: "Ways we work",
        href: "/work",
        entries: [
          {
            title: "Individual therapy",
            description: "Weekly, with one steady person.",
            meta: "60 or 75 minutes",
            href: "/therapy",
            image: { src: "/rooms/bench.jpg", alt: "A sunlit room with a low timber bench" },
          },
        ],
      }}
      items={[{ label: "Fees", href: "/pricing" }]}
      button={{ label: "First call", href: "/call" }}
      labels={{ open: "Open menu", close: "Close menu" }}
    />
  );
}

Behavior notes

  • The panel is always in the markup and shown with CSS (visible/invisible plus opacity and a small translate), never mounted on open, so every service link is in the server-rendered HTML for crawlers and for a reader whose JavaScript has not arrived.
  • The preview swaps on onMouseEnter and onFocus together, so tabbing through the list changes the photograph exactly as hovering does.
  • That photograph is keyed on the active index inside AnimatePresence, so the outgoing image blurs out under the incoming one rather than snapping.
  • The arrow at the end of each row animates on opacity and translate rather than being mounted and unmounted, so the row's width does not change as the selection moves.
  • Escape closes both the panel and the mobile menu, and moving the pointer off the whole header closes the panel, so it never stays open behind the page.
  • Hovering any plain link closes the panel, so moving along the bar past the mega item does not leave it hanging open.
  • Only the panel is md:block; on a phone the same entries appear as serif links in the mobile menu, with the descriptions and previews dropped.
