About this block

Press Mentions and LaurelsPRO

A press and awards section for a small hotel: three ruled cards of serif press quotes, each signed with the publication set in its own masthead style and the issue, followed by a row of laurel wreaths whose stems draw themselves in and whose leaves fade on around the year and the award's name.

Base UI flavor

bash
npx shadcn add "https://beste.dev/r-base/hotel46?email=YOUR_EMAIL&license_key=YOUR_KEY"

This installs the block to components/beste/block/hotel46.tsx plus the text1 word stagger it uses for the heading.

Quick start

The installed file exports hotel46Demo alongside the block: the exact props behind the preview above. Spread it to get a working section in one line.

tsx
import { Hotel46, hotel46Demo } from "@/components/beste/block/hotel46";

export default function Page() {
  return <Hotel46 {...hotel46Demo} />;
}

Then replace the demo with your own props. Written out, a trimmed setup looks like this:

tsx
import { Hotel46 } from "@/components/beste/block/hotel46";

export default function Page() {
  return (
    <Hotel46
      eyebrow="In print"
      heading="A few kind words from people who stayed to write"
      mentions={[
        { quote: "Like being lent a friend's house, with someone kind running the kitchen.", publication: "The Slow Traveler", masthead: "italic", issue: "Summer issue, 2026" },
        { quote: "Book the Sea Suite and cancel whatever you had planned for the afternoon.", publication: "Coast & Kith", masthead: "tight", issue: "Islands guide" },
      ]}
      awards={[
        { title: "Small hotel of the year", year: "2026" },
        { title: "Best island breakfast", year: "2025" },
      ]}
    />
  );
}

type Award = {

Behavior notes

  • masthead picks a type treatment for the publication name: italic is a serif italic, tight a semibold sans with tight tracking, classic a serif in small caps with wide tracking.
  • The quote cards share 1px gaps on a border-colored background, so the rules between them are the gaps; they sit in three columns from the medium breakpoint and stack below it.
  • Each wreath is one half drawn as a stem with seven leaves and mirrored. The stem draws with pathLength, then the leaves fade on one after another, staggered per wreath.
  • The award year sits inside the wreath and the title is the caption under it. Wreaths wrap and center when there are more than fit on a row.
  • Cards and wreaths animate once as they enter the viewport; the card grid or the wreath row is skipped entirely when its array is empty.
  • With reduced motion the stems, leaves and cards render in their final state.
