About this block

Atmospheric Parallax HeroPRO

A full-height photographic hero: the image drifts at a slower pace than the page behind a film-grain overlay, and a serif headline settles in word by word ahead of the intro, a soft pill button and an avatar trust line.

Hero174: Atmospheric Parallax Hero

A full-height photographic hero: the picture clears from a blur and drifts at a slower pace than the page behind film grain, while the headline settles in word by word above the intro, a pill and an avatar trust line.

Base UI flavor

bash
npx shadcn add "https://ui.beste.co/r-base/hero174?email=YOUR_EMAIL&license_key=YOUR_KEY"

This installs the block to components/beste/block/hero174.tsx plus the button22 sliding-marker pill and the text1 word stagger it uses.

Quick start

The installed file exports hero174Demo alongside the block: the exact props behind the preview above. Spread it to get a working hero in one line.

tsx
import { Hero174, hero174Demo } from "@/components/beste/block/hero174";

export default function Page() {
  return <Hero174 {...hero174Demo} />;
}

Then replace the demo with your own props. Written out, a trimmed setup looks like this:

tsx
import { Hero174 } from "@/components/beste/block/hero174";

export default function Page() {
  return (
    <Hero174
      eyebrow="Therapy and coaching, Lisbon and online"
      heading="Room to breathe, and a way forward."
      description="A small practice for people carrying more than they can say out loud."
      button={{ label: "Begin a conversation", href: "/book" }}
      image={{ src: "/photos/lake.jpg", alt: "Morning mist lifting off a still lake below wooded hills" }}
      avatars={[{ src: "/people/one.jpg", alt: "Portrait of a client" }]}
      proof="Walking alongside 140 people this year."
    />
  );
}

Behavior notes

  • The photograph and the copy drift at different rates against the same scroll progress, 28% for the image and 12% for the text, which is what gives the section depth rather than moving it as one slab.
  • The picture clears from a 1.12 scale and blur(24px) on decode, with a complete check on mount because a cached image fires its load event before hydration and would otherwise sit blurred forever.
  • The headline runs with trigger="mount", not the component's default "view": a full-height hero is above the fold, so waiting for a scroll would leave it invisible.
  • Everything under it waits on 0.4 + heading.split(" ").length * 0.07, the same arithmetic as the stagger, so the copy lands as the last word settles however long the headline runs.
  • object-top on the photograph keeps the horizon in frame as the parallax moves it, which a centred crop would lose.
  • Layers sit on explicit negative z-indices inside an isolate context, so the image, the gradient and the grain stack correctly without escaping into the page around them.
