Linked Index Chips

Plain words

Everythingwesay,explainedonce.

The language around therapy gets in the way more often than it helps. Each entry is a short page with no jargon in it.

About this block

Linked Index ChipsPRO

An alphabetical index: each ruled row pairs a serif letter with a wrapped row of pill links, so a long glossary of pages stays scannable under a heading that settles in word by word.

Feature308: Linked Index Chips

An alphabetical index pairing a serif letter with a wrapped row of pill links, for a glossary that stays scannable.

Base UI flavor

bash
npx shadcn add "https://ui.beste.co/r-base/feature308?email=YOUR_EMAIL&license_key=YOUR_KEY"

This installs the block to components/beste/block/feature308.tsx plus the button22 sliding-marker pill and the text1 word stagger it uses.

Quick start

The installed file exports feature308Demo alongside the block: the exact props behind the preview above. Spread it to get a working linked Index Chips in one line.

tsx
import { Feature308, feature308Demo } from "@/components/beste/block/feature308";

export default function Page() {
  return <Feature308 {...feature308Demo} />;
}

Then replace the demo with your own props. Written out, a trimmed setup looks like this:

tsx
import { Feature308 } from "@/components/beste/block/feature308";

export default function Page() {
  return (
    <Feature308
      eyebrow="Plain words"
      heading="Everything we say, explained once."
      description="Each entry is a short page with no jargon in it."
      button={ label: "Ask about a word", href: "/contact", tone: "outline" }
      groups={[
        { letter: "B", entries: [{ label: "Boundaries", href: "/words/boundaries" }] },
      ]}
    />
  );
}

ts
type Entry = {
  label: string;
  href: string;
};

type Group = {
  letter: string;
  entries: Entry[];
};

type ActionButton = {
  label: string;
  href: string;
  tone?: "primary" | "light" | "dark" | "outline";
};

Behavior notes

  • Groups are rendered in the order given rather than sorted, so an index can skip letters it has no entries for.
  • Each entry is a pill-shaped Link; the pills wrap freely, so a letter with twelve entries costs height rather than a horizontal scrollbar.
  • The letter column is a fixed 4rem track, so the pills line up down the page whatever the letter.
  • Letters are set in the serif at sentence-case size rather than as small-caps labels, keeping the eyebrow the only uppercase line.
  • Entry delay is per letter group at 0.04, so a long index arrives as a run rather than forty separate reveals.
  • The closing pill sits above its own rule, which separates the action from the last group without a heading.
